The home has 66 bedrooms, spread over three floors. We encourage residents to form close relationships and be part of smaller communities within the home.

Designed with comfort and dignity in mind, to provide excellent person-centred residential, nursing, dementia and end-of-life care, with options for respite stays for those recovering from illness or in need of temporary 24-hour support. Our experienced, compassionate care team create personalised care plans that reflect each resident’s individual needs, preferences and routines.

There are many different spaces within the home to use. There are comfortable lounges and seating areas, gardens, and even a private family dining space for special occasions. The home has its own kosher kitchen, hair salon, and carefully designed spaces to support people living with dementia.

Residents enjoy a full programme of stimulating activities and nutritious, kosher meals. Families and visitors are welcome to use the campus café and community spaces, and may take their relatives and friends out around the campus where appropriate.

The campus brings together Jewish Care’s services for care, community, and support in one location. The building is light, bright, fully accessible, and built to high environmental standards. With solar panels and energy-efficient systems, it combines modern comfort with sustainability.

A tasty, nutritious and kosher meal for every breakfast, lunch and supper.

The Sugar Family Care Home is supervised by the Sephardi Kashrut Authority. The care home uses fully kosher certified food products and suppliers.

We place traditional Jewish values at the heart of all we do at Jewish Care. That’s why we ensure that every breakfast, lunch and supper served in our care homes are tasty, nutritious and kosher (or kosher-style). All our services use kosher ingredients and recipes, and our staff are trained in preparing food in a kosher way. Please contact us to find out more about this.

Meals at The Sugar Family Care Home

The team of skilled chefs will plan and prepare a varied menu of meals each week. They will meet with residents and relatives to ensure that they cater to every palette.

Meal times are social times, where residents will enjoy tasty kosher meals together. Traditional foods help residents remember and mark key moments in the Jewish calendar; challah on Shabbat, doughnuts for Chanukah, honey cake for Rosh Hashanah and hamantaschen for Purim. These are all part of what makes Jewish life so important in our homes.
