The B’nei Mitzvah Programme is a rewarding experience run by Jewish Care at Sandringham in Stanmore, designed for young people in School Years 6 to 8 to connect, give back to their community, and learn what it means to become a Jewish adult as they prepare for their B’nei Mitzvah.
Participants are empowered to grow in confidence, empathy, and leadership, all while forming meaningful bonds with Jewish Care’s community members, residents, and their peers.
The B’nei Mitzvah Programme runs year round and includes:
-
In-person volunteering opportunities during half terms and school holidays at Jewish Care hubs across North West London
-
Can include a celebration event and participation in the Maccabi Fun Run in June, with funds raised as a group
Participants will gain valuable insights, build self-confidence, and develop a strong sense of community and social responsibility.
-
Hands-On Volunteering: Support members of the community, contribute to Jewish life, and bring joy through in-person and virtual volunteering activities.
-
Friendship & Community: Form connections with peers and become part of something bigger, helping shape a kinder, more connected community.
Additional benefits include:
-
Priority Access: Participants receive priority access to Jewish Care’s leadership programme for Year 9+ and opportunities to become a young volunteer.
-
Awards & Future Opportunities: Participation can count towards the Yoni Jesner and Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and looks great on future applications, personal statements, and CVs.
Make your B’nei Mitzvah year one that makes a difference – to you and to others.
