This Pesach, please help Jewish Care ensure that families never face dementia alone.
Your generosity will help ensure that every family facing dementia receives the support they need.
When Julie was diagnosed with dementia, her world began to change – but who she is did not. She is still a wife, a mother and a grandmother – someone who finds comfort in familiar routines and shared laughter.
Dementia may shape her days, but it does not define her.
Julie’s husband, Simon, and daughters, Victoria and Beverly, were determined to care for her at home for as long as possible. But dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with it. It touches the whole family, bringing daily emotional strain, exhaustion and uncertainty.
From the very first conversation, Julie’s family found reassurance, understanding and practical guidance. Through one-to-one support with a Family Carers Support Worker, carers groups and practical advice, they no longer faced dementia alone. At the same time, Julie began attending The Sam Beckman Centre for people living with dementia, where she can still enjoy meaningful routines; play the card games she loves; and feel safe, supported and connected.
