The Lay Leadership Development Programme (LLDP) was created 6 years ago to engage with future leaders of Jewish Care.

The project aims to educate and inspire young adult professionals to become actively involved in the life of Jewish Care. The year-long programme is a mixture of learning, mentoring and hands-on involvement. You will learn about the organisation, our services and people. You’ll meet some of the clients we support and hear from senior leaders in the organisation.

The LLDP comprises a combination of briefings with Jewish Care’s key leadership and senior personnel. One Sunday a month you will visit various Jewish Care care homes around London and the South-East getting a hands-on volunteering experience and meet staff and residents. You will also hear from social workers and Jewish Care staff to get a better understanding about their day-to-day roles and how Jewish Care operates and supports the community.

Nicole Grossman, Chair of Young Jewish Care and leader of LLDP Group 5 said:

‘LLDP is a fantastic programme that allows you to gain a true insight to the daily running of Jewish Care. I thoroughly enjoyed this year’s speakers where I was able to learn about how Jewish Care survived through COVID-19 and how the day to day running had to be adapted. As participants, we were able to learn how we could get involved and support Jewish Care both now and in the future’
