This winter, simply turning the heating down or lights off to save money is not an option for Jewish Care.

With the escalating cost-of-living crisis affecting us all, this winter feels very different. Hundreds of vulnerable, older people in our community are having to make the devastating choice between eating or heating.

Jewish Care’s vital services have never been more critical than they are right now. Each week, 10,000 people are touched by what we do and more are turning to us.

Although Jewish Care is absolutely committed to maintaining its high standards of care, the current crisis is having a huge impact on our organisation as well as on the people we support.

Our electricity charges alone have increased by 125%, and our energy use over the last year cost us an additional £1 million.

Thousands of our residents, tenants and members rely on us for support, so we can’t just switch off or reduce services to save money.

That’s why we are asking for your donation to please help us continue to provide essential light, warmth and nourishment for our community.

Light

Jewish Care lights up people’s lives every day by providing exceptional care and support across our services. These bright and vibrant services are absolutely vital to our community.

Warmth

Every week we provide a warm and safe environment for hundreds of people to enjoy. The warmth comes not only from the all-year-round comfortable temperature of buildings (which is costly to maintain due to the high energy prices), but also from the friendly, welcoming residents, tenants, members, staff, care workers and volunteers who fill them.

Nourishment

Jewish Care serves thousands of delicious and nutritious, kosher meals each year across our services. We also provide emotional nourishment by offering friendship and stimulating activities. With the cost of food and energy rising sharply, this is all becoming increasingly challenging to fund.

Community

Jewish Care brings people together to socialise and celebrate Jewish festivals like Chanukah. Our care buses play a crucial role in ensuring that anyone is able to access our services and attend their health appointments. Despite the rising price of fuel, keeping our buses running is vital in helping to prevent loneliness and isolation.

Thank you for donating this Chanukah.

Your generosity means that despite the challenges we’re all facing, the vulnerable, older members of our community will continue to be supported.
