We want to assure you that we remain 100% committed to the development of a new campus in Redbridge on the existing Sinclair House site, which is not just about physical infrastructure, but about the development of the right services to meet current and future demand for all Jewish Care services and the local community in Essex. Following a positive pre-planning application meeting with the London Borough of Redbridge, we are now looking at how we progress to the next stage with our proposed development, and we will continue to keep everyone updated as our plans progress.

Please be assured that Meals on Wheels, telephone befriending and online programming and events are all still available and will continue as usual. Our Supportive Communities groups have resumed in-person activity subject to availability, as have our Memory Way Cafes for carers or family members living with dementia.

To take part in either of these activities, please contact Supportive Communities and Befriending Officer, Alison Smardina, on asmardina@jcare.org or 020 8922 2273 or Dementia Projects, Tanya Miller, on tmiller@jcare.org 020 8203 0521.

Our arrangements for the East London and Essex area are therefore interim and are as follows:

Redbridge Jewish Community Centre

We are pleased to confirm that in-person activity for Community Centre members has resumed at Woodford Forest United Synagogue on an interim basis.

Redbridge Jewish Community Day Centre

RJCC Day Centre activities will run twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday.

Activities will take place at Woodford Forest United Synagogue on an interim basis.

The Synagogue is easily accessible by public transport with some parking on site to help make attending activities easier and more accessible for members and volunteers.

Please note that the centre will still be operating at a limited capacity and so a member of staff will be in touch with you about attendance on activity days. Priority booking will be given to those who are most in need of support.

Activities include:

  • Monthly restaurant nights
  • Entertainment/Quiz evenings
  • Chaps that chat
  • Ladies that lunch
  • Weekly wellbeing activity such as pilates, yoga, line dancing and more

For more information about activities on offer, please contact Community Events Organiser, Sharon Imber on simber@jcare.org or 07795 667 751.

The MIKE Youth Leadership Programme meets in person at a local communal location on a Tuesday evening. To find out more, please click here

As well as the events and activities that take place in this community centre, we also run other events out in the community that you are very welcome to join us at. To find out more, please click here.

Woodford Forest United Synagogue, located at Churchfields, E18, is easily accessible by public transport and there is some parking available on site, which will make attending activities easy and accessible.

If you need any assistance with transport or for all other queries related to transport, please contact our new Centre Coordinator, Timea Kerekgyartone Kasza, on 020 8418 2100 or at timea.kasza@jcare.org. Parking and transport requirements will be prioritised for those who need it most.
