Investing in Volunteers logo

Jewish Care’s work would simply not be possible without the support of our many dedicated volunteers.

We’re always looking for more amazing people to join us. A couple of hours of your time could make a huge difference to someone’s life. So please have a look round and see if there’s anything you can do to help.

  • “It’s really wonderful to be able to help people. It’s nice to see the community, and the recipients of the Meals in Wheels, and have a chat with them when I drop the meals off.”
Belinda Keller, Meals on Wheels volunteer

I am studying medicine and have time in the summer holidays to come into one of your centres. The experience would be invaluable to me as I hope to become a geriatrician. Can you tell me how I can do that?

Thank you for offering to come in-I am sure our members would love to spend time with you. We have volunteer managers in different parts of London so please contact your local manager to see if this is possible. You will need to go through our volunteer recruitment process so it’s best to make contact 6-8 weeks before you would like to volunteer so that we can arrange your volunteer training in time.

Please note we require a 3 month commitment to volunteering.

I volunteer in my local Jewish Care home. We are so short staffed at mealtimes and there is only me and one other volunteer-we really need more volunteers. I would like to speak to someone about it.

Thank you for your concern. We always try and ensure the best experience for our residents so your concern is appreciated. It’s best you mention this to the supervising staff member who you volunteer with in the home. Alternatively, you may like to contact your local volunteer manager and she will speak to the staff in the home and offer to recruit additional volunteers for these busy times.
